What will you do?
For their LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal in Zeebrugge, they are looking for a Vessel Engineer. The LNG terminal in Zeebrugge is the gateway for the supply of LNG in Northwest Europe.
You will be trained as a Vessel Engineer (Loading Master), where you will be responsible and can actively participate in the various LNG ship operations. You will also receive broad training on the entire LNG process and be involved in other operational activities at the LNG terminal.
You get to know the commercial framework and the contractual commitments towards the company and their customers. In this way, you will be able to set the right priorities and communicate with the various internal and external stakeholders, such as your colleagues at the LNG terminal, the commercial department, the customers, the shipping companies and ships’ crews, the port authorities, the shipping agent, etc.
As a representative, you will board the LNG ships where you will perform the crucial coordinating role of Loading Master between the ship crew and the operational shift team. This way, you ensure the safe and efficient running of all activities before, during and after a loading and/or unloading operation
Together with your fellow Loading Masters (nice team of colleagues), you divide the LNG ship operations between them so that they can continue uninterrupted, both during and outside office hours
You follow up the preparations, planning and possible after-treatment of the ship operations in close cooperation with the Operations team and your colleague-Loading Masters, and take care of the necessary administrative and operational tasks in this respect
You make proposals to improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of the installations and, after validation, help implement them.
In time, there are a lot of possibilities to grow within the organisation, both in other departments (e.g. Business Development, Commercial, Exploitation or Projects) and in other locations (at home, in Brussels or abroad).
